ahh the flatwoods monster. Quite possibly my favorite cryptid/ alien sighting of all time. And thats what makes it so interesting, Alien, Cryptid? Decide for yourself as we dive into this weeks monster. The flatwoods monster only has one sighting, However it is a very interesting one. at dusk of september 12, 1952, 3 boys claimed they had seen a object fly through the sky and then touch down on a local farmers property. The boys quickly ran home and gathered a group of 7 people. Armed with nothing but flashlights they ran to the farmers land and started looking for the object. Eventually the group wound up next to a hill with a blinking red light at the top that smelled of a pungent mist which was nauseating. one of the men aimed his light in the direction of the hill and saw a tall figure who had a red face with a pointed hood. Upon seeing the figure it hissed and glided towards the group. The man screamed and dropped his light causing the rest of the group to flee with him. The day after the incident a gummy deposit was found in the field similar to that of gummy bears aswell as strange skid marks. As much as I love the flatwoods monster I don't know if I fully believe in it. Although it is important to note that the local sheriff had been looking for a crashed aircraft they had reports of. The area they were searching was the same area where the group had found the monster but the sheriff didn't smell or see anything (this was earlier in the day). but overall I think the flatwoods monster is a very intresting cryptid/alien sighting hybrid and definitely sticks out in that way
